Manifesto:

The Imperial College Malaysian Society has been nothing but a pleasure to be a part of. From the theatre trips, to the amazing Malaysian Night, it has truly been a journey that I would proudly talk about to my friends and family. Therefore, I would like to apply for a post in the society so that I can continue this amazing experience and also do my part in giving back to the society that has made England seem less foreign to me.

I choose the Treasurer post because I believe my past experiences in Malaysia have moulded me to someone who can manage the inflow of money into the society responsibly and also increase the funding the society receives through sponsorship. In Sri Cempaka, as the President of Persatuan Anak Penyayang Sri Cempaka, my team and I approached corporate companies to raise RM 25,000 for Autistic children in Malaysia. If elected as the treasurer of the Imperial Malaysian Society, I would use my experience from that event to lure more sponsors into ICUMS. My past post’s as the Public Relations Director in HELP A-Levels Student Council and the Interact Club of Sri Cempaka on the other hand improved my communication skills which I believe would be a key factor when it comes to talking the Imperial Union especially for increase in funding.

Lastly, I may not have any experience as a Treasurer though I do believe my past experiences will guide me through the role of the Treasurer of Imperial College Malaysian Society.  If elected as Treasurer, I promise my utmost dedication to the post and the society.

Thank you.

Niraj Patel.
